Businesses in Bedfordshire vote against BID

Businesses on the Middlefields Industrial Estate in Sandy have rejected plans to make the area a business improvement district (BID).

“Following a ballot, only 42 per cent of businesses on the industrial estate, voted in favour of the area becoming a Business Improvement District,” reported Biggleswade Today.

The ballot was on 29 March 2015 and hosted by Central Bedfordshire Council. The proposed BID levy was 2 percent of rateable value.
