Derwent London want to create business improvement district

Fitzrovia News reports that Derwent London, a real estate investment trust, is trying to set up a business improvement district in central London to be operating by the spring of 2012.

“The company is backing the creation of a business improvement district (BID) in Fitzrovia — a public-private partnership with Camden Council. Communications giant, British Telecom and City of London are also backing the initiative,” says the paper.

Fitzrovia News also reports that a University of London artist-in-residence has made a short film criticising the plans.
